When are TRYOUTS?
There will be 3 separate opportunities to tryout for the team (you must attend at least 1 tryout to be eligible to make the team):
- First tryout: October 15th at Cal Anderson Park from 10 AM – 1 PM
- Second tryout: November 5th at Kentridge High School from 10 AM to 1 PM
- Third tryout: Saturday, January 14th at Magnuson Park from 10 AM to 1 PM.
While you only need to attend one tryout to be considered to play for the Majestics, the more time our coaches see you play, the better your chances of impressing them and making the team. Around 50 players will be selected to be on the active team roster.
How much do tryouts cost?
Each tryout costs $20. Alternatively, you can attend all 3 tryouts for $40. You must register for tryouts in order to play.
You can register by filling out the form below:
What do i need to bring to tryouts?
Athletic gear, water, cleats, and enthusiasm! We’ll also have a waiver for you to sign when you arrive. No helmets or pads are required for tryouts. You must complete registration in order to attend tryouts.
How will i be evaluated at tryouts?
Potential players will be evaluated based on agility and overall athletic ability, offensive and defensive skills, passion, and teachability. If you don’t know much about football that’s completely ok – it’s more about your willingness to learn and ability to learn quickly.
What is required if I do make the team?
Players must attend each practice every week during the season. These practices occur 3 times a week: Mondays from 7 to 9 PM, Wednesdays from 7 to 9 PM, and Saturdays from 10 AM to 1 PM. All practices are mandatory unless excused with prior approvals from the team’s general manager.
Players will also be required to learn the playbook, follow all rules of the Women’s Football Alliance, sign an injury waiver fee, and be involved in the team off the field at things such as fundraisers, community events, and chalk talk sessions. There is also a Team Camp that will be held one weekend in February.
Lastly, players are required to pay player dues each season to pay for things such as team travel, field costs, referee costs, and team uniforms.
